Happy Halloween!

We are home in Illinois! It's our first time in the midwest and it sure is a lovely part of the U.S.A.

 We literally moved into our house today. It feels so good to be back with our things again. I can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight.  And what a fun day to be moving in, a great way to meet the neighbors. Obviously we didn't have much time to prepare but we did manage to find our little sign to let them know we had candy. =o)

Trick or Treat

 

Finished! I think I'm going to do a couple more to go with it, as time allows. I want to work on adding more children to my portfolio.

We move on October 20th. Time is flying.

 

Everyone in Gustavo's family is in a mariachi band. Everyone except Gustavo, that is. They all play violíns, trompetas and guitarrones. They all make wonderful music in restaurants and at wedding parties. Gustavo would love to join the band, but he can't play any of the instruments. What's a wannabe mariachi to do?

 

Over at the pbj's we are having another picturebook spotlight!  We are celebrating with the very talented Dani Jones, who is the illustrator of The Best Mariachi In the World, written by J.D Smith and published with Raven Tree Press.

 

Dani will be spending the week with us answering questions about her experience and has graciously offered a signed copy of Mariachi to a lucky winner. Thanks, Dani! All you have to do is answer this multiple choice question:

Trick or Treat in progress

This is crazy I know. I am officially finished with the board books and have a couple of weeks before we move. I'm knee deep in doing things around the house to prepare but I keep taking a break to play with an illustration. I think it's helping me decompress. I'm trying really hard not to get stressed out!
